Educational Objective

This department aims to help students understand universality and become experts through studying Japanese studies and literature. Japanese studies identifies the linguistic characteristics of Japanese as an individual language and its phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics in synchronic and diachronic methods. The study of Japanese literature is designed to speculate on Japan, the Japanese people, and their culture through studying a variety of literary works in each age and genre. Therefore, the department helps students to have academic desire by having a more intense curriculum and securing outstanding professors.

Educational Goals

• To helps students have a proper understanding of Japan by analyzing international politics objectively.
• To nurture elites who can study and teach Japanese language and literature with specific knowledge and theories on Japanese language (language, linguistics, and education) and literature(modern and classical Japanese literature).
• To nurture students who can contribute to active exchanges through academic seminars, scholastic exchanges, and student exchanges.
